ASOS Test Lead - Meteorologist III
Axiom is seeking an ASOS Test Lead to join our team in providing technical support services to the Sterling Field Support Center (SFSC). The Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) is a meteorological data collection system located at approximately 900 airports across the United States. Its purpose is to collect airport weather data (temperature, dewpoint, precipitation, etc.) for use by pilots and airport authorities in aviation weather. The current ASOS system was deployed in the early 1990's and much of the hardware is either obsolete or being phased out of production. With critical dependencies on the surface meteorological data provided by ASOS, the program has entered a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP). As a result, a new, more modern hardware and software package is being developed and will require extensive testing and support prior to deployment into the field to replace the legacy ASOS.
Position Description
The ASOS Test Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities across the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance and process improvement.
