Summary:

Prepare detailed drawings, for permit requirements and erection of steel buildings.

Essential Functions:

1. Prepare permit drawings, which are used to assist customers in acquiring building permits. These include Anchor bolt plans, details and reactions
2. Assist detailers in preparing final erection drawings, which are used to guide the steel erector in the field. These include dimensional plans to locate steel members and connection details.
3. Assist detailers in producing shop drawings for use in member assembly.

Education and Experience:

Associates degree or certificate in Auto-CAD with six months to one year experience in the drafting field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must possess drafting experience with 2D CAD and knowledge of 3D CAD preferred. Have a good understanding of geometry and trigonometry. Should have a basic understanding of general fabrication and engineering principles. Should possess logic and analytical abilities with excellent computer skills in Auto-CAD and Microsoft Office. Must be very detail oriented and organized.
