City of Fort Wayne – Fleet Garage

Position: Master Level Technician – Light Duty Schedule: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., may vary

What You'll Do:

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on city vehicles (SUVs, cars, trucks, vans)
• Diagnose and repair complex automotive and computerized systems
• Use diagnostic software and tools for cost-effective repairs
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Assist parts personnel with identifying and ordering correct parts
• Provide roadside assistance and vehicle make-ready services
• Train and support mid-level and entry-level technicians
• Serve as back-up to the Service Writer – Foreman as needed

Must-Have Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 12 years of skilled mechanic experience
• Knowledge of internal combustion and diesel engines, automotive apparatus, and parts fabrication
• Valid Indiana driver's license; CDL B with airbrake endorsement within 90 days of hire
• Ability to use scan tools and fleet management software
