Since 1964, the Northwest Regional Re-Entry Center (NWRRC) has been a nonprofit leader in structured reentry services, operating a 150-bed co-ed residential center in Portland, Oregon. We support, educate, and encourage justice-involved residents as they transition back to the community with improved life skills, accountability, and safety for all.
As a Health Services Specialist (HSS), you will play a key role in assisting justice-impacted residents while they are in the NWRRC program, and for providing the education and guidance to be successful with their own health services upon release. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive medication and health services management for residents in a residential community corrections setting. Duties include dispensing prescribed medications, monitoring prescription compliance, tracking and documenting the movement of medications, and accurately reporting all relevant information. In addition, the role provides one-on-one support to residents throughout their time in the program-from initial arrival and adjustment, through ongoing participation, to preparation for release. This position uniquely integrates medication management with direct social services support to promote residents' health, stability, and successful transition.

Qualifications:
This position requires keen attention to detail, strong documentation and writing skills, strong communication skills, basic math skills, ability to work under pressure, and ability to work with a diverse resident population. Experience in a corrections or similar residential environment is required. Prior experience dispensing medications and/or medication management is strongly preferred, or relevant education/training.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Availability:
NWRRC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with anticipated availability needed between 9:00am and 7:00pm. A regular day will be 8 hours. However, this position must be flexible with schedule as needed.
