Human Resources Specialist

The District Credit Union | Aurora, CO (On-Site)

Are you a people-focused HR professional who thrives on building strong teams, developing talent, and creating a positive workplace culture? The District Credit Union is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to help drive our people strategy and support a high-performing, engaged workforce.

About the Role

As the Human Resources Specialist, you'll lead the day-to-day HR functions that keep our organization running smoothly-from recruiting and onboarding to benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. You'll partner closely with leadership to support employee development, strengthen workplace culture, and ensure HR practices align with organizational goals.

This is a highly impactful role where you'll help shape the employee experience and support the continued growth of our organization.

What You'll Do

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Partner with leadership on employee coaching, performance management, and development strategies
  • Administer payroll, benefits, and leave programs with accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and implement training and development programs
  • Conduct compensation analysis and maintain up-to-date job descriptions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders on HR policies and practices
  • Support operational efficiency, including coordination of facilities and vendor services

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in human resources, training, or management
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment law
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
  • High emotional intelligence and strong conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS preferred)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
