SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
Responsible for cleaning/sanitization of production equipment within the line/designated work area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Executes tasks/duties assignments in a timely and accurate manner under the directions of the Compounding Supervisors
Safety Compliance |
Follow all company EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) policies and procedures. |
Wear required PPE (steam gloves, goggles, face shields, apron, protective clothing) at all times. |
Handle cleaning and sanitizing chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS). |
Ensure proper dilution and use of sanitizers per manufacturer specifications. |
Identify and report unsafe conditions, spills, leaks, or damaged equipment immediately. |
Follow lockout/tagout procedures when required. |
Maintain safe chemical storage. |
Participate in safety drills and hazard communication programs. |
Ensure proper utilization of signage during spills and clean ups |
General GMP Responsibilities |
Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) applicable to cosmetic and personal care manufacturing. |
Ensure cleaning activities prevent cross-contamination between products (e.g., fragrance carryover ). |
Follow controlled access and hygiene practices. |
Production Equipment Cleaning and Sanitization |
Verify all production lines are labeled during the cleaning process. |
Ensure labels are legible, accurate, and securely attached. |
Remove outdated or incorrect labels before applying new ones. |
Immediately report missing or incorrect labeling. |
Prevent use of unlabeled or improperly labeled equipment. |
Follow color-coding or status tag systems where applicable. |
Perform cleaning and sanitization of Production Filling Equipment, hoppers, transfer lines, pumps, hoses, etc. according to approved SOPs. |
Maintain cleanliness of production floors, filling equipment exteriors and surrounding equipment. |
Verify that equipment is visually clean and free from residue before release. |
Ensure only approved cleaning agents are used. |
Documentation and Data Integrity |
Accurately complete cleaning and sanitization logs in real time. |
Do not backdate or falsify records under any circumstances. |
Immediately report documentation errors and follow correction procedures. |
Support audit readiness by maintaining organized and accurate records. |
Bulk Handling |
Locate bulk totes for production orders and bringing them to the Production area with hand jack, electric pallet jack or forklift |
Verify correct bulk product is brought to the correct Production line |
Connect the bulk tote to the production filling lines. |
Communication and Escalation |
Communicate equipment readiness status to Compounding Operators and Supervisors. |
Escalate issues such as: |
Failed swab or rinse tests |
Incomplete cleaning |
Equipment damage |
Cross-contamination risks |
Collaborate with Maintenance for equipment issues. |
Support internal and external audits as needed. |
Training and Continuous Improvement |
Complete initial and annual GMP and safety training. |
Stay current with SOP updates and regulatory requirements. |
Participate in refresher training. |
Provide feedback on cleaning process improvements. |
Assist in validation or re-validation of cleaning procedures when required. |
Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, efficiency projects). |
Demonstrate commitment to product quality and consumer safety. |

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. The base hours are eight (8) hours per day depending on shift assigned.
TRAVEL
No travel is expected for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Entry level to 2 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE LANGUAGE SKILLS
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret related machinery parts repair general manuals, manufacturer's guarantee/warranty coverage's, limitations, condition's and exclusion's
Ability to read and understand reports and business correspondence
Ability to write instructions clearly, concisely and understandable
Knowledge of commonly used mechanical concepts, practices and procedures
Ability to effectively communicate with and answer questions from supervisors, managers, co-workers, customers and general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Knowledge in basic Math skills required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and apply same to successfully accomplish department goal and objectives
