Position: Volunteer Member – Disaster Preparedness Committee Location: Syracuse City Hall, Council Chambers, 1979 W 1900 S, Syracuse, UT 84075 Meeting Schedule: Monthly meetings. Compensation: unpaid

Position Overview: Syracuse City is seeking dedicated individuals to join the Disaster Preparedness Committee. This group of appointed community members works to ensure that Syracuse is always ready and safe in the event of an emergency. The committee focuses on planning and coordinating responses to large-scale natural disasters and similar emergency events, involving both residents and businesses.

The committee is an integral part of developing strategies, coordinating resources, and informing the community about disaster preparedness. Join us and be part of shaping the future safety of Syracuse.

Members:

Comprised of citizens in each of the following districts

• Fremont Park District
• Legacy Park District
• Syracuse Bluff District
• Syracuse District
• Syracuse South District
• Syracuse West District
• Member at large

We are currently filling a role in the Freemont District.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend monthly meetings to discuss disaster preparedness strategies, resources, and action plans.
• Collaborate with fellow committee members to develop and implement preparedness programs.
• Contribute to the creation and dissemination of educational materials for residents and businesses on disaster preparation.
• Work with local agencies and organizations to strengthen community-wide emergency response plans.

Qualifications:

• Must be a resident of Syracuse City, Utah.
• A passion for community safety and preparedness.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other community leaders and residents.
• Strong communication skills to help inform and engage the public in disaster preparedness efforts.
