POSITION SUMMARY

The College of Education – Dean's Office invites applications for a dynamic administrative assistant to join our team. This key position will help the Dean's office and Field Experience staff. Our office strives to serve our students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Dean's office and the Field Experience Office.
  • Collaborate with student workers and staff.
  • Assist with appointments, schedules, and visitors.
  • Answer phones and emails.
  • Assist with data input to the Field Experience office and the Dean's office.
  • Assist in the administrative duties involving graduation, Dean's certificates, mailings, and correspondence.
  • Maintaining student records and filing, including turning down files to Records.
  • Assist in managing social media.
  • Assist with coordinating and leading various outreach efforts such as special events, graduation events, open houses, and college
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an office environment preferred.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with visitors, students, staff, and faculty
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – % OF TIME

  • 40% – Assist in the daily operations of the Dean's office
  • 40% – Assist in the daily operations of the Field Experience Office
  • 20% – Other department duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of materials (up to 50 lbs)
