Special Education Teacher Qualifications:
Teacher, Visually Impaired/Orientation and Mobility (TVI/O&M) Responsibilities:
Provides specialized instruction and mobility training to students with visual impairments, including those with additional disabilities or deaf‑blindness. Conducts vision‑related assessments, develops IEPs, and adapts learning environments to ensure accessible, independent participation in school and community settings.
Essential Duties
Conduct functional vision assessments and Expanded Core Curriculum evaluations.
Determine eligibility for vision‑related educational services and develop individualized plans.
Provide specialized instruction and orientation and mobility training.
Adapt materials and environments to support student access.
Collaborate with families, school staff, and district personnel.
Maintain required documentation and communicate student progress.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
