Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Child & Adolescent

Annual Salary: $52,278 + $3,000 Sign-on Bonus

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm (until 7:00 pm one day per week)

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Child & Adolescent Outpatient team. What you'll do

As an LPN in Child & Adolescent Services, you will support psychiatric and medical care for youth receiving medication management services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the psychiatrist with medication management and treatment planning
  • Administering, monitoring, ordering, and dispensing medications
  • Conducting routine physical and mental health assessments
  • Completing medical intakes and obtaining vital signs
  • Monitoring clients for medication effectiveness and side effects
  • Providing education and supportive counseling to clients and families
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
  • Managing medication inventory and ensuring proper medication security
  • Scheduling medical appointments and coordinating follow-up care
  • Communicating effectively with treatment team members regarding client needs

Requirements

 

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program with a current, active Virginia LPN license and one (1) year of experience administering medications in a psychiatric, behavioral health, substance use treatment, long-term care, or related healthcare setting.
