Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and reliable Catering Chef to join our culinary team. The Catering Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality food for catered events, ensuring consistency, presentation, and timely execution. This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in both kitchen and off-site event environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute menu items for catered events, including corporate events, private parties, weddings, and special occasions
Assist with menu planning and recipe development for catering menus
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards
Coordinate food preparation timelines to ensure on-time service for events
Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe guidelines preferred)
Assist with food inventory, ordering, and prep planning for upcoming events
Work closely with the catering manager and event staff to ensure smooth event execution
Pack, transport, and assist with food setup for off-site catering events when necessary
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and prep area
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a chef, line cook, or catering chef preferred
Experience preparing food for large groups or events is a plus
Strong time management and multitasking skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred Skills:
Experience with large-batch cooking and event plating
Creative menu development skills
Strong teamwork and communication abilities
Experience in Southern, upscale casual, or event-style cuisine is a plus
