Position OverviewLHH is seeking a detail-oriented
Accounts Payable Specialist to support its accounting function. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable processing, vendor management, and ensuring accuracy in financial documentation within a structured, process-driven environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior AP experience who is comfortable working in an in-office setting, values accountability, and can adapt to established procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, including three-way matching, proper coding, and approvals
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and organized digital filing systems
- Manage vendor profiles, including verification of banking and account changes
- Identify and resolve invoicing discrepancies by working with vendors and internal teams
- Prepare weekly payment batches for review, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries professionally via email and phone
- Support month-end close activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain documentation for audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
- Assist with expense tracking, job costing, and supporting documentation for financial records
- Work within the ERP system to process invoices, payments, and maintain vendor data
- Utilize Adobe Acrobat to organize, mark up, and manage financial documentation
Required Qualifications- 2-4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat for document management
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to follow established processes while adapting to changing business needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
- Familiarity with three-way matching processes
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment
Work Environment- Fully in-office position located in Indianapolis, IN
- Standard business hours with a consistent 40-hour workweek
