Trust & Estates Legal Assistant

Los Angeles, CA | Direct Hire | Full-Time, Non-Exempt

LHH has partnered with a well-established law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Legal Assistant to support a busy and sophisticated Trusts & Estates practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys client interaction and working in a collaborative, high-quality legal environment.

Position Overview

This role supports a practice focused on Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate. The Legal Assistant will work closely with attorneys, clients, financial institutions, and third parties and must be polished, professional, and confident in managing high-touch client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney

• Manage high-volume calendaring and scheduling (Outlook, Zoom, in-person meetings)

• Prepare quarterly tax payments for multiple trust accounts

• Prepare property tax payments and insurance renewals for trust accounts

• Coordinate with CPAs, bookkeepers, and financial institutions

• Communicate regularly with bank representatives regarding trust accounts

• Prepare and record deeds and assemble estate planning binders

• Draft professional correspondence and manage client communications

• Print, scan, proofread, and edit legal documents with a high level of accuracy

• Maintain organized files and track case progress

• Manage Excel spreadsheets related to trust account expenses

• Collaborate with attorneys and team members while working independently when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Trust & Estates experience, including estate planning, trust administration, and probate

• Strong administrative, organizational, calendaring, and follow-up skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and Adobe Pro

• Experience with e-filing and/or probate litigation filings preferred

• Familiarity with CompuLaw or similar calendaring systems a plus

• Experience with iManage or similar document management systems preferred

• Associate's degree or higher preferred

• Notary Commission a plus (all commission costs covered by the firm)

Job Details

• In-office 4 days per week, 1 remote day per week

• Hybrid schedule available after 45 days of employment

Compensation

• $95,000+ annually, depending on experience and qualifications
