Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Answer multi-line telephone, transfer calls, take messages and schedule appointments.
  • Answer written and verbal inquiries concerning personnel procedures and/or refer them to other department staff as necessary.
  • Responsible for entry, retrieval and maintenance of data into digital and physical personnel files.
  • Assist in the employment process of applicants.
  • Assist in the maintenance of employment files.
  • Assist in filing documents and forms.
  • Provide back-up assistance to the Benefits Administrator as needed.
  • Generates and distributes materials to County staff.
  • Perform special projects as directed by HR Director.
  • May be required to work irregular hours, attend job related meetings, and perform all duties with minimal super�vision.
  • The duties of the HR Assistant are not limited to those set forth above. The employee will perform such functions, duties and assignments as given by a supervi�sor, consistent with ability, background and expertise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Administrative experience required.
  • Accounting, bookkeeping train�ing helpful.

Experience:


  • Minimum three years in clerical field preferred, to include experience in typing, computer word processing, etc.
  • Human Resource experience preferred.

Certifications, Skills and Licenses:


  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Computer literacy required, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and accounting programs.
  • Human resource certification preferred.
