Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Enterprise Network Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, documenting, and supporting Clair's enterprise networks. The focus of the Enterprise Network Engineer will be working with the Network Architect and Senior Enterprise Network Engineer to design and build a programmable, sustainable, and reliable network infrastructure. This position is based in Nashville on the Rock Nashville campus and will primarily focus on supporting the campus directly.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Deploying, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cisco network equipment including switches, wireless controllers, wireless access points, routers, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshooting fiber optic cabling, copper cabling, and associated electronics
  • Deploying and supporting Cisco collaboration solutions (Webex, Webex Calling) or other VoIP technologies and equipment.
  • Technical project management
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of common network applications including DNS and DHCP.
  • Solid understanding of switching and layer 2 technologies including STP, VLANs, LACP, vPC, IGMP Snooping, etc.
  • Understanding of routing concepts and dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Understanding of VPN and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Understanding of network access control mechanisms (802.1x, MAB) for wired and wireless networks.
  • General understanding of multicast routing concepts and protocols (PIM).
  • General understanding of overlay technologies (e.g. EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS).
  • Some experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), and Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with any of the following a plus (but not strictly required):
    • Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
    • Cisco Nexus Dashboard
    • Coding and scripting (e.g. Python, JavaScript, PowerShell)
    • Network automation (e.g. NetBox, Ansible, Salt Stack, Cisco DNA, Nornir)
    • Interacting with RESTful APIs
    • Audio/Video networks and related protocols (AES67, Dante, IEEE1588, SMPTE2110)


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Configure, install, troubleshoot, and support equipment from diverse vendors, e.g. Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Cato, VMware, Microsoft
  2. Support remote and branch office staff and infrastructure
  3. Tier II support for network related escalation
  4. Collaborate on design, specification, and installation of campus networks and new construction
  5. Configure, support, and document network deployments and technology
  6. Manage and oversee department project and rollouts
  7. Support internal engineers and external clients regarding network design and related issues
