Position Summary
As an Electric Motor Rewind Technician, you'll perform preparation and rewinding of AC and DC electro-mechanical equipment. You'll assist senior winders, operate repair/testing equipment, and ensure all work meets EMC's quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all work instructions and customer specifications
- Assist with motor preparation and disassembly
- Operate winding and testing equipment (e.g., surge testers, core-loss testers, bake ovens)
- Strip and cut wire, make coils, perform core testing
- Clean and repair damaged iron, prepare insulation
- Accurately record job time and information
- Operate forklifts (must be certified)
- Maintain a clean, safe work area
- Ensure all completed work meets quality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an apprentice motor winder
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Understanding of schematics and motor components
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, surge testers, etc.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
