**The role**
Work closely with multiple business areas and key customers to identify category growth opportunities, ensure integration and consistency of category messages, assortment strategy, and merchandising principles to help achieve annual targets and goals. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in retail space optimization and planogram development using BlueYonder/JDA Space Planning software (or similar platforms like Apollo, Nielsen Spaceman, etc.). This role is pivotal in driving data-backed decisions that enhance product visibility, sales performance, and customer experience across our retail channels.
**Key accountabilities**
Duties and Responsibilities: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the Company)
- Develop joint business partnerships, in partnership with Field Sales personnel, to deliver category reviews and achieve sales objectives
- Support national and independent accounts as needed on ad-hoc insights needs & building relevant dashboards and scorecards.
- Develop compelling sales stories by leveraging data and insights
- Own assortment and space planning recommendations in partnership with Sales.
- Develop and deliver best-in class planogram recommendations leveraging BlueYonder (JDA)
- Collaborate with category managers, sales teams, and buyers to align space planning strategies with business goals
- Analyze store layouts, shelf performance, and assortment data to recommend strategic improvement
- Collaborate with multiple business areas to develop Category Leadership Stories.
- Analyze on-going category and customer trends.
- Leverage shopper data to connect our consumers at retail.
- Develop and maintain regular performance reporting with MSAI, Circana and Scan data.
- Partner with other business areas to stay ahead of industry, category & brand issues, and trends and identifies target opportunities.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
**Skills & experience**
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience or High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years related work experience. Experience: - Category insights in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry - Syndicated Scan and Panel Data Analysis (Circana , Nielsen, Numerator) - Proficiency in Space Management software such as BlueYonder (JDA), Apollo or Spaceman is essential for this role - Managing large data sets - Must possess a valid driver's license issued from state in which employed. - Must be 21 years of age or older. Knowledge of: - Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), and Microsoft Teams - Retail merchandising and in-store execution strategies and tactics. Skilled in: - Verbal and written communication - Attention to detail - Problem/situation analysis - Effective time and task management - Multitasking capabilities - Flexibility and adaptability Ability to: - Communicate to a broad and diverse audience. - Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage projects or programs. - Maintain effective working relationships. - Demonstrate critical thinking. - Work with diverse populations and varying education levels. - Receive and communicate information orally and in writing. - Prioritize assignments, workload, and manage time accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience: - Working with primary research Work Environment and Physical Demand: - Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.). - Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods. - Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
