Job Description
**Description** **PeaceHealth is seeking a Data Entry Specialist - Nursing Administration for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position** . The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $17.84 - $26.76. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. **Job Summary** Reviews all data generated by patient transaction; ascertains the accuracy of the data received to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements that accurate data is transmitted and transforms the data into a coding system acceptable for entry. **Essential Functions** + Operates alphabetic and numeric data entry terminal to transcribe charges and adjustments onto the computer file for charges. + Researches and validates transaction errors. + Monitors and clears the transcription import error report. + Generates all clinical visit entries and work errors daily. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Education** + High School Diploma Preferred: Or equivalent **Experience** + Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience in data entry or related experience and + Preferred: Medical office, medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding experience **Skills** + Proficient with MS Office applications (Required) + Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required) + Mastery of medical terminology (Preferred) **Working Conditions** Lifting + Consistently operates computer and other office equipment. + Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. + Sedentary work. Environmental Conditions + Predominantly operates in an office environment. Mental/Visual + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
