Description
Summary:
Successful candidate will conduct commercial lighting design review, technical analysis, seminars, outreach to industry manufacturers, contractors, and end-users for various state and utility energy-efficiency lighting programs.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience; commercial lighting experience and in-depth understanding of the lighting design requirements and strategies; and strong communication, marketing, and technical skills. Some travel required.
Reports to: Sales Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Lighting Certified by National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions preferred
+
+ + If not an LC,
+
+ + must commit to achieving LC status within the first eighteen months of employment, or at the earliest time allowed by the NCQLP guidelines
+ Experienced in lighting design preferred
+ Experienced in lighting controls application and design preferred
+ Must have an understanding of IECC, ASHRAE, and applicable energy legislation, or be willing to learn.
+ Basic mathematic skills,
+ Good organizational and communication skills,
+ The ability to operate and understand basic Microsoft programs such as Excel & Word,
+ Must have good understanding of electrical and industrial material,
+ Minimum 2 years experience at the counter or related sales experience,

Working Conditions:
Conditions vary based on the customer location and may include construction, warehouse, manufacturing, office, or external environments. Some activities may include walking, standing, climbing in various conditions including extreme heat or cold. Essential functions will require travel to customer locations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Essential Job Functions:
+ Making joint sales calls with Outside Sales Representatives on design build lighting projects,
+ Perform customer energy audits, determine best method to achieve highest customer ROI, and present findings/proposals to end users with goal of selling lighting,
+ Establish and maintain relationships with lighting specifiers by participating in industry groups such as the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES),
+ Work with AGi32 to create quality lighting designs,
+ Review project lighting specifications to determine where 3E has strengths and weaknesses,
+ Take necessary steps to resolve 3E project specification weaknesses,
+ Contact vendors for price, delivery and technical product information as needed,
+ Issue sales documents and other contract documents as needed to insure completion of a contract,
+ Conduct training as needed for contractors, specifiers, and 3E personnel,
+ Work directly with vendors and lighting agents to grow 3E business.

+ + Quoting lighting packages and related items for bid jobs based on plans and specifications,
+ Entering customer orders into 3E data base,
