Position Summary

The Loan Officer Assistant for the Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) facilitates the loan application and approval journey as a liaison between the MLO, the borrower and the processor. Responsibilities include quickly collecting necessary documentation, running credit checks, preparing loan applications, and coordinating with underwriting and processing teams to ensure a seamless and expedited loan experience for borrowers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Borrower Communication: Serve as alternate point of contact for borrowers to provide updates , answer questions, and guide them through the loan journey.
  • Application Process: Collect and verify borrower documentation, prepare loan applications and assist with both e-sign and wet-sign processes.
  • Document Collection & Management: Ensure timely and secure collection of required documents using compliant tools and methods, like scanning, e-mailing and faxing.
  • Pipeline Oversight: Monitor the status of each loan file and proactively identify and resolve delays.
  • Underwriting Support: Assist in gathering required documentation for processing to review and submit for the clearance of underwriting conditions and to ensure timely loan approvals.
  • Closing Coordination: Assist loan officers in scheduling closings and working with borrowers, title companies, and mobile notaries.

Education and Experience

  • NMLS License preferred.
  • 2+ years of Reverse mortgage industry experience..
  • Ability to maintain a knowledge of lending guidelines, investor programs, industry requirements, and industry changes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and electronic mail software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of professional integrity.
  • Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with co-workers and supervisor.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.
  • Attention to detail and quality focused.
  • Sales experience.
  • Encompass experience preferred.
