Job Description
Our client is seeking a full-time **Legal Assistant** to join their Intellectual Property practice group in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting a collaborative team, and is eager to contribute to a dynamic legal practice.
The right candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator with the technical savvy and professionalism needed to support multiple attorneys and keep workflow on track. **Prior experience working in Intellectual Property law is required.**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Draft, proofread, revise, and save legal correspondence and documents.
+ Provide billing support, including time entry, proofreading, and processing client invoices.
+ Deliver administrative support for a busy IP practice group of attorneys, paralegals, and assistants.
+ Assist with file openings in Aderant and Foundation IP; prepare and send engagement letters.
+ Manage mail distribution, email filing in NetDocs, and other organizational tasks.
+ Prepare and process formal IP documents such as Application Data Sheets, IDSs, Declarations, Assignments, and transmittal letters.
+ Support attorneys with docket reporting, filing reminders, and USPTO filings.
+ Assist with financial and administrative tasks such as expense reports, invoice routing, and payment requests.
**Qualifications:**
+ **Experience in Intellectual Property law required.**
+ Associate degree, High School Diploma, GED, or relevant industry certification.
+ Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; able to manage deadlines effectively.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Attention to detail in proofreading and document management.
+ Familiarity with legal terminology and court/document requirements.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology platforms (e.g., case management, e-filing, document management systems).
+ Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate attorney needs.
**Work Model:**
+ Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote (eligibility and performance-based).
+ New hires should expect to work onsite 5 days per week during a 4-6 week training period.

**Pay Details:** $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
