Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This position involves working remotely to handle Medicaid home health billing tasks, ensuring accurate claims processing and efficient resolution of billing issues. Located in Richmond, Virginia, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities: - Process Medicaid home health billing claims for various insurance providers, including Aetna, Anthem, Sentera, United, and Medicaid Del and Penn. - Review and resolve claim denials, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolutions. - Manage prior authorization requests to ensure compliance with insurance requirements. - Perform billing tasks twice weekly and create patient schedules on a monthly basis. - Address and clean up accounts receivable (AR) buckets to maintain accurate financial records. - Handle appeals and denials efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and communication. - Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Allscripts and Cerner Technologies for billing functions. - Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth claim administration and benefit processing. - Support the organization's goals by maintaining accurate records and improving billing workflows. Requirements - Proven experience in medical billing, particularly in Medicaid and home health agencies. - Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Epaces. - Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and other billing-related technologies. - Strong knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) processes and claim administration. - Ability to handle appeals and denials effectively, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. - Experience in scheduling and managing patient billing cycles. - Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with healthcare teams. - Prior experience in skilled nursing facility (SNF) or home health billing is preferred.
