ABOUT SEYER INDUSTRIES

Founded in 1957, Seyer Industries is a small business located in St. Peters, Missouri, specializing in high-complexity machined parts and assemblies for the aerospace and maritime industries. Seyer is a turnkey supplier with extensive capabilities, including CNC machining, design engineering, mechanical assembly, chemical processing, painting, kitting, welding, and NADCAP-certified penetrant and magnetic particle inspection. Principle Responsibilities:

    • Create new/refine existing manufacturing planning in Epicor ERP to meet the customer's engineering, AS9100 requirements and standard Seyer practices. This includes creating in-house and outside vendor operations with manufacturing instructions, determining shop times and specifying the necessary materials and hardware.
    • Work closely with and support Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming and Quality personnel with planning duties/area of expertise.
    • Control customer's data including drawings, models and specifications.
    • Communicate status and expectations with Customer Account Managers (CAMs) as well as operations and support groups.
    • Assist in the manufacturing process and continuous improvement of existing products.
    • Collaborate with all departments to resolve production issues.
    • Evaluate/implement/manage customer engineering changes and impacts to all downstream customers.
    • Review customer engineering for errors and producibility issues/suggestions. Submit/manage customer design change form requests.
    • Create/manage internal shop aid and fixture drawings.
    • Support Manufacturing Engineering with design of manufacturing methods, fixtures and processes in a way that helps the organization meet financial goals.
    • Maintain an overall positive attitude within the group as well as with all other groups.
    • Conform to all requirements of Seyer Industries Quality System and any and all customer invoked quality requirements (aerospace standard AS-9100, for example).
    • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S standards.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:

    • 5+ years experience in aerospace manufacturing with an emphasis on machining, welding and assembly operations preferred.
    • 5+ years experience with Siemens NX CAD required. Experience with Siemens Teamcenter preferred.
    • Experience using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
    • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
    • Working knowledge of GD&T.
    • Excellent organization skills.
    • Demonstrated mechanical and technical knowledge with the ability to resolve problems and provide technical solutions.
    • Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts.
    • MS Office working experience (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Customer focus attitude.
    • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner and relate in a positive fashion towards individuals throughout the company and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to deal with interruptions while completing work with deadlines.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Consistent and dependable attendance.
