Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to support individual tax filing needs in Lake Oswego, Oregon. This is a Contract position focused on preparing accurate returns, organizing client financial information, and assisting with extension-related work during peak tax periods. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with 1040 forms, compiling income and expense data in Excel, and translating financial details into complete tax filings. Responsibilities: - Prepare and review individual income tax returns, with an emphasis on Form 1040 filings. - Assist with tax extension processing and help ensure required submissions are completed on time. - Organize source documents and convert client records into clear digital files for tax preparation purposes. - Build income and expense summaries for Schedule C filers and rental property reporting using established templates. - Compile financial data in Microsoft Excel and transfer finalized figures into tax return software accurately. - Gather, verify, and reconcile supporting documentation to reduce errors and maintain complete tax records. - Use Intuit ProSeries to enter tax information and generate completed returns for review or filing. Requirements - Experience preparing individual tax returns, including Form 1040. - Working knowledge of Schedule C reporting and rental property income documentation. - Proficiency with Intuit ProSeries for tax return preparation. - Strong Microsoft Excel skills for organizing financial information and creating income statements. - Ability to handle tax extension support with accuracy and attention to deadlines. - No license is required for this position. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential financial documents responsibly.
