Position Overview

The IT Associate is a key member of the technology team at Guardian Fire Protection Services, providing front-line support to employees and coordinating closely with our Managed Services Provider (MSP) to ensure smooth and secure daily IT operations.

This role is instrumental in onboarding newly acquired companies, including device deployment, systems access, and user support, ensuring a consistent technology experience for all new team members.

Primary responsibilities include hands-on technical support, hardware provisioning, mobile device management for field technicians, and maintaining an accurate IT asset inventory. The IT Associate serves as the first point of contact for on-site technical issues, escalating complex matters to the MSP as needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven, detail-oriented professional to gain broad experience in user support, systems administration, and post-M&A IT integration within a fast-growing, field-based service organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1–3 years of IT support or systems administration experience, ideally in a hybrid desktop/mobile environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Active Directory
  • Hands-on experience with Windows device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and remote monitoring tools (preferred)
  • Comfortable supporting users with varying technical skill levels, including field technicians
  • Experience managing IT asset inventories, especially mobile hardware
  • Exposure to onboarding processes in post-acquisition environments (a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience in field services, construction, or skilled trades (preferred)
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 30 lbs
  • Flexibility for occasional evening/weekend work during deployments or onboarding
  • Based in Rockville, MD (Washington, DC metro) with occasional travel to field offices

Compensation

  • Salary - is negotiable depending on candidate's background and experience. Will be discussed during the interview.
