Member Services Representative / Teller / Banker

Immediate Opening - Onsite Position
📍 Location: [Des Plaines, IL]
💼 Full-Time | 35 Hours/Week


💲 Salary Range: $20.29 - $24.35/hour
(Compensation is based on experience, skills, and knowledge)

What You'll Do:

As a Member Services Rep/Teller/Banker, you'll help identify members' financial needs and provide the right solutions. Responsibilities include:

Customer Service & Account Support

  • Deliver service aligned with our credit union's Service Promises

  • Meet sales and service goals

  • Process new accounts (savings, checking, club accounts)

  • Maintain and update member records (name/address changes, payroll deductions, etc.)

Member Transactions & Requests

  • Handle walk-in and mailed-in deposits, loan payments, and withdrawals

  • Perform account inquiries and product recommendations

  • Process check orders, wire transfers, stop-payments, and other service needs

Cash Handling & Balancing

  • Cash checks, verify transactions, and ensure accurate end-of-day balancing

  • Examine checks for accuracy and apply holds if needed

Floating Teller Duties

  • Travel to other branches as needed

  • Provide full teller support at alternate locations


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior financial institution experience helpful, but not necessary
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff to maintain a team work environment
  • Basic math skills necessary for balancing and cash handling; working knowledge of computer applications
  • Ability to communicate well with the members as well as a strong desire to help the members with their financial needs
