Description We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in Portland, Maine. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing procurement operations, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services, and supporting corporate purchasing strategies. Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including the development and execution of purchase orders. - Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements. - Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure cost-effective and quality goods or services. - Collaborate with internal teams to identify procurement needs and optimize buying strategies. - Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including order tracking and documentation. - Ensure adherence to corporate procurement policies and regulatory requirements. - Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the procurement function. - Support the resolution of any issues related to supplier performance or order discrepancies. - Provide regular updates and reports on procurement activities to stakeholders. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate procurement or a related field. - Strong knowledge of purchase order processes and procurement best practices. - Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiations and vendor management. - Familiarity with buying processes and procurement functions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders. - High attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. - Proficiency with procurement software or tools. - Ability to analyze data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
