Job Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated Body Shop Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of the body shop, lease maintenance, and detail shop for our heavy duty truck dealership located in Perrysburg.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, including collision repair, frame straightening, painting, lease maintenance, and the detail shop.
- Supervise technicians and support staff to ensure productivity, quality standards, and safety compliance.
- Ensure proper scheduling and technician job assignments based off skills and knowledge.
- Communicate, enforce, and monitor department processes to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accuracy of customer work orders and proper accounting for technician time worked to achieve high technician efficiency.
- Coordinate with the parts department team to ensure all costs are properly captured and billed to the correct customer and work order.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of all shop transactions and customer communications.
- Ensure department warranty administration processes are being completed properly and timely.
- Coordinate and drive housekeeping efforts and maintenance for shop equipment.
- Manage annual service department goals and budget in alignment with the company's financial and operational objectives.
- Set goals and expectations that drive productivity through teamwork, respect, and willingness to help and support others.
- Train and develop department team members.
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and lead daily communications and monthly department meetings.
- Resolve any departmental issues or concerns that may arise.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.
- Other duties and assignments as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience as a supervisor or manager within the trucking or transposition industry is required. Candidates with management backgrounds in related fields such as agriculture or construction equipment will also be considered.
