Nature and Scope
The Program Officer serves a key role in supporting the goals and outcomes of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program deliveries. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate.
General Accountability
The Program Officer is accountable for assisting the department in carrying out the activities to support training initiatives within the Saskatchewan Aviation Learning Centre, First Nation communities and SIIT locations across Saskatchewan. The incumbent is responsible for providing services for learners, instructors, Person Responsible for Training (PRT) and Program Head, including program administration, monitoring and reporting. Work is supportive in nature and requires collaboration and interaction with internal and external stakeholders with focus on quality assurance.
Specific Accountabilities
The Program Officer will be responsible for a variety of administrative and support functions in order to support the delivery of AME programs at SIIT locations. This position will ensure the smooth, coordinated and efficient operation, maintenance and promotion of AME programs, as well as support the Program Head and Lead Instructor & PRT in the data collection, reporting, and analysis of the AME department. This position provides additional support as required and includes the following accountabilities:

Required Qualifications and Experience
Two years of related post-secondary training/education coupled with a minimum of three years administrative work experience. Good understanding of administrative processes and procedures with a proven proficiency with a variety of software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite and other data management software. The following are considered assets: knowledge of First Nations culture and organizations, experience working in a trade, experience working in post-secondary education. Incumbent must have a valid driver's license as travel may be required.
As this position is considered safety sensitive, the incumbent will be subject to testing as per SIIT's Alcohol and Substances policy.
