Description We are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team in Miami Gardens, Florida. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in accounting processes and systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in improving workflows, enhancing documentation, and supporting our month-end close procedures. Responsibilities: - Oversee account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards. - Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations to maintain financial records. - Manage general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries. - Lead month-end close processes, including creating calendars and improving checklists. - Identify system inefficiencies and implement changes to automate accounting tasks. - Collaborate with the Controller to document and refine accounting policies and procedures. - Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to analyze and manage data. - Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing accounting operations. - Support the organization's financial goals by maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach. - Ensure adherence to non-profit accounting standards, if applicable. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proven experience in account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations. - Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry preparation. - Strong familiarity with month-end close procedures and process improvement. - Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel. - Ability to adapt to manual processes and transition to automated systems. - Previous experience in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required. - Positive attitude, initiative, and excellent communication skills for collaborative teamwork.
