The Oracle North America Consulting organization provides architecture, implementation, and migration specialists that deliver professional services that align with and support the North America Sales organization and Oracle customer base.
The Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Technologist is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure solutions on Oracle Cloud. As a senior consultant, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end cloud services, from strategic planning through to implementation, ensuring that all solutions are scalable, performant, highly available, secure, cost effective, and manageable, and aligned with OCI and industry best practices. This is a senior-level role requiring deep expertise in Oracle Cloud, as well as strong leadership and communication skills to work effectively with customer technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure customer requirements and objectives are achieved.
This individual serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor who facilitates the migration and deployment of workloads from on-premise environments or other 3 rd party Clouds, to OCI. He/She works closely with strategic customers, to provide technical know-how, technology guidance, and detailed design and implementation expertise, with the primary objective of assisting customers in getting to production status and realizing the business value of the solution in OCI as quickly as possible.
The Cloud Infrastructure Technologist manages creation and delivery of technical content, including detailed Cloud designs that function as build specifications, technical oversight of OCI build and migration efforts, and focus on automation and reusability.
In this role, the technologist will engage with a wide cross section of internal and external stakeholders - Sales, Development, Support, and third-party partners to drive cloud adoption efforts. Acts as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. **Responsibilities**
**Cloud Technology Design & Strategy:**
+ Lead the design and implementation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for enterprise applications.
+ Accelerate OCI adoption and usage by customers and partners.
+ Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to assess current infrastructure and develop cloud migration strategies that meet business requirements.
+ Provide expert advice on OCI services, technical solution patterns, and cloud adoption best practices.
**Consulting & Implementation:**
+ Design and implement hybrid and multi-cloud solutions leveraging OCI, ensuring seamless integration with on-premise and other cloud environments.
+ Oversee the deployment, migration, and optimization of Oracle Cloud services including compute, storage, networking, security, and database offerings.
+ Perform infrastructure assessments, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
**Project Leadership & Collaboration:**
+ Lead and mentor a team of cloud technologist and junior consultants in the successful delivery of OCI-related projects.
+ Collaborate with clients' internal IT teams to ensure that OCI solutions align with organizational goals and comply with governance and security policies.
+ Coordinate and manage timelines, deliverables, and resources for cloud transformation initiatives.
+ Assist Cloud sales teams to architect and scope new engagements and solutions that grow Oracle Cloud adoption.
**Cloud Security & Compliance:**
+ Ensure that all cloud solutions are secure, meet compliance requirements, and follow industry best practices (e.g., NIST, GDPR, SOC 2).
+ Architect secure, highly available, and resilient cloud environments, ensuring that client data is protected and disaster recovery plans are in place.
**Continuous Improvement & Innovation:**
+ Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Oracle Cloud and related technologies, and proactively apply new ideas to client projects.
+ Recommend and implement improvements to existing cloud technologies based on evolving client needs, business growth, and technology advancements.
+ Develop reusable Intellectual Property (IP) for the Consulting Delivery organization to help drive delivery efficiency and customer value.
+ Provide feedback to IaaS & PaaS Product Technology teams regarding product deficiencies and enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
**Education:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
**Experience:**
+ 10+ years of consulting or technology experience in cloud infrastructure technology and design, with at least 5 years focused on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
+ Proven experience in solutioning and deploying cloud solutions in large, complex enterprise environments, with emphasis on infrastructure as code, and devops and automation for infrastructure.
+ Expertise in cloud migration, multi-cloud, and hybrid cloud deployments.
**Technical Skills:**
+ Hands on skills with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and/or other Cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google/GCP.
+ Strong expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) including core IaaS and PaaS services like compute, networking, storage, identity and access management, and database/multicloud services.
+ Proficiency in cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
+ Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and OCI Cloud Shell.
+ Knowledge and understanding of DevOps and infrastructure automation with hands-on experience in any of the following technologies:
+ GIT, Chef / Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Mezos.
+ Python, Bash
+ JSON
+ Familiarity with Observability and Management cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
+ Virtualization and networking expertise with VMWare, KVM, Oracle VM, Hyper-V
+ Strong Linux and/or Windows system administration skills
**Certifications:**
+ Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification (Associate or Professional) is highly desirable.
+ Additional certifications in related technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Terraform, Security) would be a plus.
**Communication & Leadership:**
+ Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
+ Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience leading technical delivery teams.
+ Strong "security first" mindset when designing and building Cloud Infrastructure.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation and reports.
+ Comfortable with ambiguity. Able to work efficiently with cross-functional teams across geography and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure with minimal guidance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Databases (e.g., Oracle Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service).
+ Experience with OCI integrations, API management, and microservices.
+ Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including networking, server virtualization, and storage management.
+ Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration platforms.

CA: Hiring Range in CAD from: $102,400 to $190,200 per annum.
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,800 to $232,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
