Description We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's team in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will manage full-cycle accounting processes and ensure the accuracy of financial records for a high-end retail operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail accounting and be adept at handling inventory and sales reporting, payroll, and compliance efforts. Responsibilities: - Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close using QuickBooks. - Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports to support business decisions. - Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing. - Manage accounts receivable functions such as customer invoicing, payment application, and collections. - Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports from internal systems to QuickBooks. - Track inventory purchases, cost of goods sold, and related adjustments while supporting physical inventory counts. - Process payroll and prepare related journal entries while ensuring compliance with multi-state or local tax requirements. - File sales tax returns and coordinate with external CPAs or tax advisors for audits and annual filings. - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting. - Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis as needed. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years' experience in full-cycle accounting. - Proficiency in QuickBooks and hands-on accounting practices. - Demonstrated expertise in retail, luxury retail, or consumer goods accounting. - Strong understanding of inventory and retail-specific accounting principles. - Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. - Experience with account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing business needs.
