Endo Tech/Front Office Specialist
We are seeking a competent, conscientious, service-oriented individual with strong character to work in one of our gastroenterology medical offices in Wesley Chapel & Zephyrhills as an Endoscopy Clerical Assistant. This individual will provide selected care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures and support the clinician in the exam rooms. They will work under the direction of the division's Physicians and Practice Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
High school graduate with 2 years of medical office experience utilizing EMR/practice management systems, with at least 1 year experience at a specialty practice. Preference may be given to candidates meeting minimum requirements with work experience from employers emphasizing excellent customer service (e.g., Publix, Disney, Chick-fil-A).
Spanish fluency is recommended but not required. Required travel to offices with Endo team is a must.
Role:
Endoscopic Technician (~50%-75%)
- Prepare and maintain endoscopy instruments and equipment; clean, disinfect, and calibrate instruments and scopes according to standards.
- Prepare rooms and maintain a hygienic and organized area.
-Responsible for overseeing the Endo schedule in Provation.
- Prepare specimens obtained during the procedure in accordance with standards.
- Assists with planning & coordinating the Endo procedure schedules and flow.
- Assists with patient education for prep and procedures as well as arrival times.
- Communicates physician instructions and helps facilitate follow-up visits.
- Respond to patient inquiries/triage calls promptly and professionally.
Front Office (~25% -50%)
Scheduling
- Schedule office appointments.
- Recommend actions and strategies to improve patient access.
Telephone
- Patient registration if scheduling new patients.
- Maintain current with HIPAA and other compliance training.
-Triage incoming phone calls effectively.
- Responsible for collecting and recording patient data (such as vitals, history, and reason for visit) accurately & efficiently.
