Maintenance I

Job Summary:
The Maintenance I performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and safe operation of school district buildings, facilities, and equipment. This position supports daily operations by addressing maintenance requests, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and groundskeeping work as needed. The technician works both independently and as part of a team to maintain a clean, functional, and safe learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide general support for the repair, maintenance, and monitoring of district facilities, equipment, and related systems necessary to establish and maintain an environment conducive to teaching and learning.
• Assume responsibility of all assigned work orders and building maintenance items.
• Complete assigned work orders, projects, and other related items.
• Assist with the pickup, sorting and delivering of items as appropriate both within and outside the district.
• Provide accurate reports related to materials used and/or labor time expended.
• Provide for the proper use and care of all district equipment, tools, hardware and other related materials.
• Appropriately communicate to all stakeholders when repairs or work is being conducted and implement related safety measures.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Assist with other Facility Department operations as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Three (3) or more years of prior experience in related positions preferred.
• Preference will be provided to candidates with advanced training, certificates, and/or licenses in relevant trade areas.
• Preference provided for prior experience in an educational setting.

Compensation:

• The range for this position is $20.87 - $31.31/hour, based on verified prior experience and education.
• This is a 12-month benefits eligible position.
