**Job Title: Commercial Construction Painter**
**Job Description**
The Commercial Construction Painter prepares, finishes, and protects interior and exterior surfaces on a wide range of commercial job sites. This role focuses on delivering high-quality finishes in active construction environments, working closely with superintendents, project managers, and other trades. Typical projects include restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, wellness facilities, industrial sites, and other commercial properties. The position requires strong technical painting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while meeting project specifications and industry standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare interior and exterior surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, masking, and priming to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
+ Apply paint, stain, epoxy, and specialty coatings to walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and structural components according to project requirements.
+ Operate brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting tools safely and effectively to achieve consistent, professional results.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, finish schedules, and manufacturer specifications to ensure accurate product selection and application methods.
+ Mix and match paint colors to achieve required finishes and maintain color consistency across all surfaces.
+ Protect adjacent surfaces and equipment by masking, covering, and maintaining clean, organized work areas throughout the project.
+ Inspect completed work for quality, uniformity, and adherence to project and industry standards, making touch-ups and corrections as needed.
+ Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, and other trades to maintain project flow, coordinate work, and meet deadlines.
+ Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilation practices, to maintain a safe job site.
+ Assist with material inventory, including tracking usage, identifying needs, and supporting ordering processes for coatings and supplies.
+ Contribute to job-site documentation as needed, supporting accurate records of work performed and materials used.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 5 years of proven experience as a commercial painter.
+ Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coating systems, and application methods for commercial projects.
+ Proficiency in using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting tools in commercial construction environments.
+ Ability to read and follow blueprints, finish schedules, and manufacturer specifications.
+ Ability to work safely and confidently from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
+ Familiarity with commercial construction environments, sequencing of trades, and job-site coordination.
+ Strong attention to detail and a clear commitment to high-quality workmanship.
+ Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions on active job sites.
+ Reliable transportation to travel to different job sites as required.
+ Consistent and dependable attendance to support project schedules.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience working on a variety of commercial projects, including restaurants, hotels, retail, wellness, industrial, and other commercial facilities.
+ Comfort working as part of a growing paint team and collaborating with a paint manager and other crew members.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a commercial construction setting, supporting a new and growing paint team. You will work primarily on commercial job sites such as restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, wellness facilities, industrial locations, and other commercial buildings. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On the first day, you will report to the shop at 7:30 a.m. to meet with the team, receive PPE, and then travel to the job site. The environment involves working from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts, and may include various weather conditions for exterior work. A standard construction dress code applies, including hard hats, high-visibility vests or shirts, safety glasses, and work boots. Steel-toe boots are required and provided by the employee. The company supplies PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility shirts in neon yellow or orange. Employees are expected to bring their own basic tools on day one, including pouches, tape, hammer, pliers, speed square, and a drill and impact driver with batteries. This is a Permanent position based out of Verona, WI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
