As a Cook at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, Inc., you will play a vital role in creating nourishing and appealing meals for children our Murphys site, under the guidance of the Lead Cook or Site Supervisor. Your commitment to safety and quality will ensure that all food provided meets the requirements of the USDA Child Care Food Program. You'll follow strict safety precautions for food handling and storage to prevent contamination and choking hazards. You will provide housekeeping for the staff and children at the site. Additionally, you'll be responsible for delivering and storing food, along with kitchen and cleaning supplies.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment is paramount; you will adhere to our Daily, Weekly, and Periodic Cleaning Schedule while safely handling chemicals and equipment. To excel as a Cook at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, Inc., you'll need a blend of practical experience and essential skills. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one year in food service. Possession of a ServSafe Certification is preferred at the time of hiring and must be obtained within six months. Understanding food temperatures and preventing cross-contamination is critical for ensuring safety and compliance with health regulations. Basic computer skills are necessary for managing kitchen inventory and documentation.
A valid California Driver's License, current automobile insurance, and criminal background clearance are also essential. Physical requirements include passing a physical examination and having up-to-date immunizations as mandated by Community Care Licensing. Flexibility is important, as the role may involve working irregular hours, attending evening meetings, and traveling as needed.
