The Data Solutions Center of Excellence (COE) is a business segment of MISTRAS focused on providing software technology, implementation services and data analytics to a diverse group of customers operating globally. There are multiple divisions within the business segment with each focusing on a particular business or service line. The COE offers standalone software products and technical services to customers as well as complementing traditional MISTRAS inspection services with business intelligence capabilities.
As a key member of the Agile/Scrum development team, the Product Owner will act as the bridge between the business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet customer needs and business objectives.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:**
+ In conjunction with key stakeholders (Steering Committee, Divisional VPs, SMEs and customers), develop a clear and compelling **product vision** and strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and customer needs.
+ **Engage with stakeholders** regularly to provide updates on the project's progress, gather feedback, and adjust priorities as necessary.
+ Create and maintain the **product backlog** , prioritizing user stories and features based on business value and customer feedback.
+ Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and refine product **requirements** , ensuring that they are well-defined, actionable, and testable.
+ Break down high-level requirements into detailed **user stories** with acceptance criteria that provide clear guidance to the development team.
+ **Prioritize** features, user stories, and tasks to maximize the value delivered by the development team during each sprint.
+ Primary point of contact between the development team and business stakeholders, ensuring effective **communication** and transparency.
+ Define and communicate **acceptance** **criteria** for user stories and features, working closely with the quality assurance team to ensure product quality.
+ Participate **in sprint planning** meetings to help the team commit to a set of user stories for each sprint.
+ Foster a culture of **continuous improvement** , ensuring that the team's processes and performance are regularly assessed and optimized.
+ Identify and **mitigate potential risks** and issues that may impact the project's success.
+ Collaborate with the development team to plan and coordinate releases, ensuring that product increments are delivered on schedule.
+ Provide **product** **presentations** and demonstrations as needed.
+ Partners with Software Support and others for knowledge transfer and training.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:**
+ Proven experience as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum environment.
+ Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies, particularly Scrum.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple competing demands.
+ Ability to elicit clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
+ Understanding of the major phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the ability to collaborate with technical teams.
+ Strong business acumen and the ability to align product strategy with organizational goals.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent
+ Equivalent of 5-year professional work experience in the role of Product Owner (Agile/Scrum)
+ Certified Agile/Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Master (Preferred)
+ Other desirable experience
+ Proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products
+ Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello)
+ Experience with software quality assurance and manual/automated testing methods (Preferred)
+ Experience with web applications and cloud architecture/design (namely Microsoft Azure).
+ Experience with Oracle and SQL Server DBMS
+ Experience in Oil & Gas (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream), Power Generation, Aerospace, Manufacturing, and Infrastructure industries (Preferred)
+ Experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Services industry (Preferred)
+ Familiarity with GIS software (namely ESRI platform) (Preferred)
+ Familiarity with IDMS/AIMS/APM software preferred (namely PCMS, Meridium APM, GE Predix, Siemens UltraPIPE/PSAIM, Metegrity Visions, Credosoft, RBMI, SAP) (Preferred)

+ Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
