Birmingham, AL | Full-time | Land Surveying | 1 Position Available
Sain Associates is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Survey Technician to lead a field land surveying team. This position plays a key role in managing daily field operations, ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey data, and maintaining strong communication with project managers. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively, as this position functions primarily a one-man crew.
Candidates will be responsible for:
- Conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, Right-of-Way, and construction staking surveys
- Operating and maintaining Trimble GPS receivers, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Complying with company procedures and safety protocols
- Interpreting plans, plats, maps, and deeds to perform accurate field surveys
- Completing surveys in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintaining detailed and organized field notes
- Keeping the survey vehicle clean and orderly
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience in Land Surveying, with at least two years of experience managing a crew
- Proficiency in data collection software with GPS and Robotic Total Stations
- Strong understanding of survey principles and techniques
- Problem solving and attention to detail
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
- Geomatics degree (preferred but not required) or the ability to earn a degree
- Candidates must be able to lift 60 lbs., move through rough terrain, and to pass a drug test to work in this safety sensitive job
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license
