**Job Title: Welder and Fabricator** **Job Description** This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to work as a MIG welder and fabricator, independently producing steel frames and components for extended truck beds. You will use your welding, fabrication, and blueprint-reading skills at a growing manufacturing facility that values quality workmanship and professional growth. **Responsibilities** + Perform MIG welding on steel components to produce frames and parts for extended truck beds. + Fabricate steel parts using welding, cutting, and fitting techniques to meet production specifications. + Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and fabrication requirements. + Set up and operate bandsaws to cut steel materials accurately according to measurements. + Work independently at a designated workstation to complete welding and fabrication tasks with minimal supervision. + Use fabrication machinery, such as press brakes and bandsaws, to form and prepare parts for welding. + Inspect welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. + Apply basic fitting skills to align, clamp, and secure parts prior to welding. + Use basic math skills to measure, mark, and verify dimensions during cutting and fabrication. + Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all facility safety procedures and guidelines. **Essential Skills** + Proven MIG welding experience on steel components. + Hands-on fabrication experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. + Proficiency with bandsaw operation for cutting steel materials. + Basic fitting skills to align and prepare parts for welding. + Strong math skills to support accurate measuring, layout, and fabrication. + Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience working with fabrication machinery such as press brakes. + Familiarity with TIG welding and fitting is a plus. + Comfort working at various welding and fabrication workstations within a manufacturing facility. + Commitment to safety practices in a welding and fabrication environment. **Why Work Here?** Join a fast-growing, locally rooted shop that offers clear opportunities for advancement and internal promotion. You will work around fabrication machinery such as press brakes and bandsaws, as well as dedicated welding stations where products are built. The position follows a swing shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The environment is hands-on, production-focused, and centered on safe operation of equipment and tools. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
