Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Invoicing Auditing Clerk to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for auditing financial records, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and verifying payroll accuracy. This position is based fully onsite in Lynwood, California, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a meaningful federal grant project.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed audits of invoices and payroll records spanning a three-year federal grant project.
- Verify expenses to ensure accurate allocation to the appropriate cost centers and grants.
- Review and reconcile payroll records to confirm compliance with funding guidelines.
- Identify and correct any discrepancies in financial documentation or allocations.
- Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to process and analyze financial data.
- Ensure adherence to federal grant regulations by reviewing all financial transactions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and validate necessary financial documentation.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all auditing activities for accountability and reporting purposes.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing audit findings and corrective actions. Requirements - Proficiency in QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Enterprise, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and auditing practices.
- Experience with federal grant compliance and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as Concur and other data processing tools.
- Ability to review and reconcile accounts payable, payroll, and cash activity records.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and document large volumes of financial records.
- Prior experience working in a non-profit or grant-funded environment is preferred.
