Are you an experienced medical billing professional with a strong background in hospital settings and a passion for leading a team? The is San Fernando Valley based hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Billing Supervisor to join our dynamic Revenue Cycle department. In this role, you'll lead efforts to ensure accurate and timely billing while resolving insurance denials and appeals, playing a vital part in maintaining our financial health. The Medical Billing Supervisor must be well versed with not only medical billing but also insurance collections for facility claims.
Responsibilities:
+ Supervise the medical billing team, providing guidance, training, and ongoing performance evaluation.
+ Oversee the preparation and submission of claims, ensuring compliance with regulations and accuracy, including UB04 claims.
+ Manage and resolve insurance denials and appeals efficiently, ensuring maximum recovery of revenue.
+ Monitor billing processes to identify and address revenue cycle inefficiencies.
+ Audit claims for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and payer guidelines.
+ Serve as a liaison with insurance companies for escalated issues and disputes.
+ Generate reports to monitor billing performance, denial rates, and team productivity.
+ Stay updated on hospital billing regulations, payer policies, and coding changes to ensure compliance.
+ Collaborate with other departments (e.g., patient accounts, coding, admissions) to resolve billing discrepancies.
Requirements
+ A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years in a hospital setting.
+ Extensive familiarity with UB04 claim forms and hospital billing procedures.
+ Demonstrated experience with insurance appeals and denial management.
+ Strong leadership qualities with prior experience supervising staff.
+ Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Cerner, Epic, or equivalent (preferred).
+ Working knowledge of health insurance policies, billing regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers), and revenue cycle management.
