Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent, combined with 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
+ Pharmaceutical or hazardous material handling experience is a strong plus.
+ Familiarity with laboratory environments, including handling of lab equipment, glassware, and consumables.
+ Experience working with safety procedures in laboratory and logistics settings.
+ Forklift operation experience and/or forklift certification.
+ Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams to coordinate deliveries and communicate with internal teams.
+ Strong attention to detail in logging, tracking, and filing shipping and receiving documentation.
+ Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deliveries and shipments throughout the day.
Job Description
The Logistics Support role handles both the physical and administrative aspects of shipping and receiving for an on-site laboratory and logistics environment. This position manages the receipt, documentation, and distribution of inbound materials, prepares and coordinates outbound freight, and performs courier duties including interoffice mail and deliveries. The role requires regular interaction with scientific staff, careful handling of chemicals and hazardous materials, and consistent use of tracking systems to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all items.
Responsibilities
+ Receive all incoming goods and verify accuracy against packing slips before preparing items for delivery.
+ Enter all relevant receiving information into the electronic tracking and receiving systems in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Maintain up-to-date receiving files and follow up with the Purchasing Department regarding any receiving discrepancies or issues, as directed by the supervisor.
+ Deliver and pick up interoffice mail and packages on a regular, assigned schedule.
+ Assist with packaging outbound freight for transfer to carriers, couriers, and brokers, ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines.
+ Work closely with laboratories to distribute, ship, and receive materials such as chemicals, laboratory equipment, glassware, and consumables.
+ Handle chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with established safety protocols and relevant shipping and receiving guidelines.
+ Unload equipment deliveries and promptly notify the appropriate equipment team via collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
+ Track inbound and outbound packages, update stakeholders on delivery status, and communicate any delivery date changes or issues.
+ Interact regularly with scientists and other internal customers, providing responsive and professional service.
+ Operate as part of a collaborative logistics team, supporting and covering team members as needed to ensure continuous coverage.
+ Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment in all shipping, receiving, and storage areas.
+ Drive a company vehicle as needed to perform courier duties, including distribution of received items and delivery and pick-up of outbound freight.
+ Follow standard operating procedures for shipping, receiving, safety, and documentation.
+ Lift and move packages and materials weighing up to a minimum of 40 pounds on a regular basis.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned to support logistics and laboratory operations.
Work Environment
This role is based fully on-site in a laboratory and logistics environment that handles chemicals, hazardous materials, laboratory equipment, glassware, and consumables. The position involves regular interaction with scientists and other technical staff, as well as coordination with carriers and couriers such as FedEx and UPS. Typical daily activities include receiving early-morning deliveries, opening and logging packages, maintaining packing slips, boxing and delivering items to recipients, packaging outbound shipments, unloading equipment, and communicating delivery status updates via tools like Microsoft Teams. The work requires being comfortable working around hazardous materials and in proximity to animals. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and maintaining clean and organized work areas. The role is physically active, requiring frequent lifting of packages up to at least 40 pounds and occasional operation of a forklift and company vehicles. The position offers paid time off, including two weeks of PTO and 11 paid holidays, as well as the potential for renewal through the end of 2026.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
