Job Summary

The Breakfast Host is responsible for creating a welcoming environment and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable breakfast experience for our guests. This role combines guest interaction with maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and presentation. The Breakfast Host plays a vital role in leaving guests with a positive impression of their stay. This position reports to the General Manager.

Your day-to-day

The Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities for this position make up your day-to-day. They include the following tasks below. This is not designed to be a comprehensive list. All other tasks must be performed as assigned or required.

  1. Essential Functions
    • Warmly and professionally welcomes all guests to the breakfast area.
    • Create an inviting dining atmosphere by maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable space.
    • Check in with guests during breakfast service to ensure they are satisfied and enjoying their experience.
    • Provide information about menu items, hotel amenities, or local recommendations when asked.
    • Assist guests with seating, trays, or special requests in a courteous and efficient manner.
    • Support the breakfast setup and replenishment to ensure items are presented attractively and available throughout service.
  2. Job Responsibilities
    • Deliver genuine hospitality and a welcoming presence that sets a positive tone for guests' day.
    • Seek feedback from guests to identify areas for improvement and relay compliments to the team.
    • Respond promptly to guest questions, requests, or concerns with professionalism and warmth.
    • Work closely with teammates to ensure smooth breakfast service and seamless guest experiences.
    • Monitor the dining area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and comfort at all times.
    • Share guest feedback, compliments, or concerns with the management team to continuously improve service.
    • Support light operational duties as needed, such as tidying tables, restocking items, or assisting with simple food preparation, while maintaining a guest-first focus.
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, housekeeping, and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address challenges and share insights.

Performance Metrics

Performance will be assessed based on the following:

  • Understanding and timely completion of essential functions & job responsibilities and their impact on the organization.
  • Goal accomplishment and problem solving by being resourceful and applying your knowledge.
  • Communicating effectively and fostering positive relationships with all other colleagues.
  • Attending work on time as scheduled and adhering to attendance policy.
  • Understanding and following processes and procedures for documentation and communication of important information.
  • Guest Service Scores regarding Breakfast and Overall F&B Experience.

Qualifications

  • Have or be capable of obtaining Food Handling certification or other certification requirements.
  • Must be available to work early morning shifts.
  • Must be available to work on weekends & holidays.
