Position Summary: The Production Manager will lead and manage all aspects of the window and door installation process, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves overseeing multiple departments, including Installation, Measurement (IPMs), and Warehouse Operations, to maintain installation capacity between 100% - 115% of sales while achieving Green Diamond level HOS scores.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and lead a world-class team of installation and support professionals.
- Manage Installation Project Managers and Warehouse Associates, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans as necessary.
- Operational Oversight:
- Lead and manage the Installation, Measurement and Warehouse Operations departments.
- Ensure all projects are installed and delivered in alignment with customer expectations, company policies, and financial objectives.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, including NPS scores, measure accuracy, and first-time installation rates.
- Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Conduct in-progress and post-installation assessments to ensure installations meet established standards.
- Prescribe corrective actions and materials necessary to address process or installation deficiencies.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to contractual commitments, company policies, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Promote and enforce EPA lead-safe work practices among installers.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner with the Sales team and other departments to align production capacity with sales volume.
- Host production meetings and Signature Service training sessions as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for projects in Job-In-Progress (JIP) status, coordinating with installation teams, supply chain, scheduling, and warehouse resources for prompt resolution.
Job Functions & Time Allocation:
- Management of the entire installation life cycle: 50%
- Partnering with Sales and other departments for recruitment and development: 25%
- Handling staff issues and disciplinary actions: 15%
- Conducting performance reviews and improvement plans: 10%
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or engineering, preferably in residential construction.
- 3-5 years of experience in roles requiring acute attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
- Contractor's license preferred but not required.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate financial analysis.
- Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to carry 75+ pounds, climb ladders, and move/push/pull furniture.
- Capability to sit/stand for extended periods.
Overall Objectives:
- Maintain installation capacity at 100-115% of sales.
- Achieve and sustain Green Diamond level HOS scores with an 85% Net Promoter Score.
- Conduct at least 12 job site visits per month, with evaluations completed and posted within 12 hours.
- Maintain a first-time completion rate on installation of 97% or higher.
- Complete and present weekly key installation and personnel metrics reports during one-on-one meetings with the Operations Manager.
