Position Title: Mental Health Practitioner – Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

Reports To: Mental Health Professional Clinical Supervisor
Location: East African Healing Services, Golden Valley, MN (with travel to client homes/community as needed)
Position Summary
The Mental Health Practitioner provides direct ARMHS services to adult clients with mental health needs, focusing on skill-building, symptom management, and community integration. This role involves maintaining a steady caseload of 8–12 clients while working under the clinical supervision of a Mental Health Professional. Services are delivered in the client's home, community settings, or via telehealth in accordance with MN DHS guidelines and the agency's culturally responsive care model.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver rehabilitative mental health services to adults, including skills training, symptom management, and relapse prevention
Conduct functional assessments and collaborate in developing individual treatment plans (ITPs) with the client and clinical supervisor
Document services in compliance with DHS 256B.0623 and agency policy
Maintain a caseload of 8–12 clients with consistent service delivery and follow-ups
Participate in weekly clinical supervision and case consultations
Coordinate with other providers, case managers, and support networks
Provide trauma-informed and culturally competent care
Assist clients in accessing resources, employment opportunities, and independent living skills
Respond to crises in accordance with agency protocols
Qualifications
Required (per MN Statute 256B.0623):
Meets the DHS definition of Mental Health Practitioner, including one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field and 2,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
Bachelor's degree in a non-behavioral field and 4,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
Graduate student in a behavioral health field
6,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
Minimum of two (2) years of ARMHS or similar rehabilitative mental health experience
Current DHS background study clearance
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
Preferred:
Experience providing culturally specific services to diverse populations
Knowledge of Procentive or similar EHR systems
Multilingual skills (Somali, Oromo, Amharic, Spanish, Arabic)
Work Schedule & Caseload
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Caseload of 8–12 clients
Combination of community visits, home-based sessions, and telehealth
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage or salaried pay (DOE)
Mileage reimbursement for community visits
Paid training and continuing education
