The Research Associate II (Contractor) will support an analytical development team by independently executing multi-color flow cytometry and other cell-based assays, analyzing data, and maintaining high-quality documentation. This role suits a detail-oriented scientist who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works comfortably in a BSL-2 laboratory, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional team members.
Responsibilities
+ Perform multicolor flow cytometry experiments from end to end, including sample preparation, staining, acquisition, and analysis using instruments such as BD FACS Lyric and Cytek Aurora.
+ Execute a variety of cell-based assays, including Ella, MSD, xCelligence, and Incucyte, following established protocols and timelines.
+ Independently analyze flow cytometry data using software such as FlowJo or FCS Express and summarize results in a clear and organized manner.
+ Prepare and deliver data presentations to the team, communicating experimental findings, interpretations, and next-step recommendations.
+ Meticulously document experimental protocols, raw data, results, and instrument maintenance in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) in accordance with standard operating procedures and Good Documentation Practices.
+ Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs, Good Documentation Practices, and relevant quality standards throughout all experimental activities.
+ Maintain laboratory equipment in good working order, including routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and coordination of service when needed.
+ Manage reagent and consumable inventory by tracking usage, monitoring stock levels, and supporting timely ordering to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
+ Support safe laboratory operations by adhering to BSL-2 safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and following all safety procedures.
+ Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced analytical development environment, sharing knowledge and supporting joint project goals.
+ Troubleshoot experimental issues, optimize assay conditions, and propose improvements to enhance data quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
+ At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical settings.
+ Hands-on experience performing flow cytometry, including protocol development, staining, sample acquisition, and data analysis.
+ Proficiency with FlowJo software for flow cytometry data analysis.
+ Ability to work comfortably and safely in a BSL-2 laboratory environment.
+ Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in experimental execution and documentation.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills to document work clearly and present data to the team.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience performing 6+ color flow cytometry assays.
+ Hands-on experience with spectral flow cytometry platforms.
+ Experience using automated cell counters in support of cell-based assays.
+ Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and expectations.
+ Experience working with additional cell-based assay platforms such as Ella, MSD, xCelligence, and Incucyte.
+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot assays and optimize experimental conditions.
+ Comfort working in a fast-paced analytical development or research environment.
Work Environment
This position is fully onsite in a BSL-2 laboratory environment in Seattle. The role involves daily hands-on work at the bench with flow cytometers, automated cell counters, and cell-based assay platforms such as Ella, MSD, xCelligence, and Incucyte. You will work with electronic systems, including an Electronic Laboratory Notebook, to document experiments and maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and Good Documentation Practices. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with close interaction among scientists and team members focused on analytical development and high-quality data generation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.
