Job Description
**Job Title: 2nd Assembly - KTG** **Job Description** This role focuses on assembling lightweight plastic automotive door and liftgate handles in a clean, high-volume production environment. You will work in rotating assembly cells, placing small hardware and plastic components into fixtures, supporting automated assembly, and performing packing, inspection, and labeling. The position requires standing for most of the shift, maintaining a steady work pace, and consistently meeting production and quality standards. **Responsibilities** + Assemble interior and exterior door handles and liftgate handles using small hardware pieces and plastic parts. + Place parts into the correct fixtures in the proper sequence to prepare them for machine-assisted assembly. + Start on the simpler assembly stations and progressively learn and rotate through all stations within the cell. + Rotate between up to eight assembly areas approximately every two hours, with occasional full-shift assignments at a single station as needed. + Meet required production rates by assembling a specified number of parts per hour while maintaining quality standards. + Perform repetitive assembly tasks with attention to detail and consistency throughout 8-10 hour shifts. + Conduct visual inspection of assembled parts to identify defects or quality issues before packing. + Label and pack finished parts accurately and efficiently according to established procedures. + Support molding operations by packing raw plastic parts into totes, sorting components, inspecting parts, and trimming excess plastic from freshly molded pieces. + Assist with paint-area operations by hanging parts prior to paint application and inspecting painted, dried parts for defects, without handling wet paint. + Maintain a clean and organized work area in all assigned stations, including assembly, molding, and paint-related tasks. + Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while standing and working on your feet for extended periods. + Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production issues, quality concerns, or equipment problems. **Essential Skills** + Experience in general labor or assembly environments. + Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detail. + Capability to stand for up to 10 hours straight during a shift. + Comfort working at a steady, production-driven pace and meeting hourly part quotas. + Basic skills in labeling, packing, and handling small parts. + High school diploma or GED. + Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Prior experience in automotive, plastics, or other high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus. + Familiarity with visual inspection for quality control is beneficial. + Ability to rotate between multiple workstations and adapt to different tasks within assembly, molding, and paint support areas. + Strong reliability and interest in long-term, career-oriented opportunities in a production setting. **Why Work Here?** You will join a stable Tier 1 automotive supplier that values long-term tenure and a strong, people-focused culture. The organization offers a clean, well-organized facility and encourages career-oriented individuals who want to grow and develop in a production environment. Multiple shift options provide flexibility, and the location is easily accessible by public transportation, supporting a practical work-life balance. **Work Environment** The work takes place in a clean, modern manufacturing facility producing plastic automotive door handles and related components. You will work 8-10 hour shifts on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, standing for most of the day and rotating through various assembly, molding, and paint-support stations. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, especially in areas supporting paint operations, and involves handling light plastic parts rather than heavy materials. The dress code is casual, as long as clothing is appropriate and not loose or offensive, and the facility is centrally located in Muskegon with convenient access to bus lines, making transportation straightforward for many employees. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Muskegon, MI. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $17.25/hr.
