Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a growing accounting firm in Greenville, South Carolina. This fully onsite position works with a varied portfolio of clients, handling day-to-day accounting activities, payroll administration, and financial record maintenance. The role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing independent ownership of assignments with team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee complete bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of client accounts, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and managing payables and receivables
- Administer payroll processing for a high-volume group of clients while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant submissions
- Prepare monthly account write-ups and maintain organized financial records for multiple businesses
- Reconcile bank and credit card activity, investigate variances, and correct discrepancies as needed
- Use QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online to complete daily accounting work and keep client records current
- Support new client setup by assisting with items such as business license applications and multi-state payroll withholding registrations
- Provide dedicated accounting and payroll support for a larger client with more advanced service needs
- Coordinate with colleagues on shared priorities while independently managing assigned client deadlines and deliverables Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or a closely related accounting role
- Hands-on proficiency with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and account reconciliation practices
- Ability to manage work across multiple clients and meet deadlines with limited oversight
- Strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills
- Experience in a public accounting setting or another multi-client environment is preferred
- Exposure to tax-related work is beneficial
