Job Overview
The Billing Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and maintaining all billing-related tasks for construction projects. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, the ability to work with multiple project managers and subcontractors concurrently and must have a solid understanding of construction billing methods such as AIA progress billing and time-and-material invoices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare progress billings, unit price, and T&M billings in accordance with contract agreements.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements for submission, lien waivers, stored material, vendor waivers, and insurance certificates.
- Utilize construction billing software such as Procore.
- Compile data and reports, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Prepare and process AIA G702/G703 billing documents.
- Track project progress and align billing with contractual terms under the supervision of the project manager.
- Communicate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Handle lien waivers, change orders, and payment applications.
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with billing requirements.
- Assist with other administrative and accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of billing or accounting experience, preferably in Construction Industry.
- Strong understanding of construction invoicing, lien waivers, and project billing.
- Proficiency in construction billing software.
- High attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Minimum 2 years
- Procore: Minimum 2 years
- Commercial Construction: Minimum 2 years of working experience in commercial construction support role is a plus.
