Job Overview

The Billing Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and maintaining all billing-related tasks for construction projects. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, the ability to work with multiple project managers and subcontractors concurrently and must have a solid understanding of construction billing methods such as AIA progress billing and time-and-material invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare progress billings, unit price, and T&M billings in accordance with contract agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements for submission, lien waivers, stored material, vendor waivers, and insurance certificates.
  • Utilize construction billing software such as Procore.
  • Compile data and reports, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Prepare and process AIA G702/G703 billing documents.
  • Track project progress and align billing with contractual terms under the supervision of the project manager.
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Handle lien waivers, change orders, and payment applications.
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with billing requirements.
  • Assist with other administrative and accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of billing or accounting experience, preferably in Construction Industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction invoicing, lien waivers, and project billing.
  • Proficiency in construction billing software.
  • High attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Minimum 2 years
  • Procore: Minimum 2 years
  • Commercial Construction: Minimum 2 years of working experience in commercial construction support role is a plus.
