Job Description
**Job Title: General Laborer/Packer** **Job Description** Join our team as a General Laborer/Packer, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring our food safety standards and production goals are met. You will be responsible for packaging products and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. **Responsibilities** + Perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards. + Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives. + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations. + Be knowledgeable about product specifications and the weight of each tortilla produced. + Retrieve product specifications from the company ERP system. + Identify and understand the specifications of the packaging materials. + Program the date machine for different products produced during the day. + Prepare the workstation at the start of the shift with necessary materials and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift. + Meet productivity goals by following the production schedule according to specifications. + Participate in line rotation and assist in various tasks as needed. + Communicate effectively with team members and leaders regarding product deficiencies. + Operate Auto Baggers, Ilapak, and other machinery. + Complete changeovers in the packaging area. + Enter production information and downtime into the TGI system. + Retrieve and return packaging materials to and from the warehouse. + Practice continuous rotation within assigned workstations and handle packages up to 50 lbs. + Assist in quality assurance programs, including pH verification and metal detection. + Follow and comply with all SQF requirements. + Maintain workstations per SQF guidelines. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Strong work ethic and reliability. + Ability to identify and analyze problems and plan solutions. + Experience with food manufacturing. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work with manufacturing equipment. + Good hand-eye coordination. + Focus on maintaining excellent quality. + Ability to follow directions and work independently within a team. + High attention to detail and ability to work quickly and methodically. + Strong organizational skills. + Basic reading, writing, and math skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Proficient use of computer and RF gun. **Why Work Here?** We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, and years of service bonuses.
